Wood Collection For Sale
Paul Jackson

I was contacted through the website by the family of a former member (Tom Weber) who has passed away, leaving a considerable collection of wood, mostly turning stock.

They are looking to sell as a lot.

My tentative plan is to buy the wood, make an inventory, and advertise for sale.

I am going to see the wood tomorrow (Monday 6/17) to get a better idea, so plans may evolve. It may be more than I can comfortably handle.

Any interest, reply via the forum.

I have purchased the wood (my $, not club funds) from Harriett Weber and brought most of it home. There was enough to fill my van and I still need to go back for lots more bowl blanks.

I plan to organize it as best I can and hold a sale at my home, probably next weekend.

Lots of exotic spindle and bowl blanks, 30+ species so far.

More details to come.

Anxious to see the inventory and take a few pieces off your hands. Thanks for taking it on. I plan to attend my first meeting July 10. I am always trying to find wood to try out on my lathe

I have sorted through the wood and identified 61 species. I have prepared a preliminary price list at around half of what I could find as retail.

I noted a Board Foot price, and a price for some common turning stock sizes when available. All prices negotiable, with discounts for multi-piece purchases.

The list is on the "Documents" page, under "Club Information".

Count now up to 66 species, including 8 species of Rosewood.

Price list has been extended. Same place in the Documents page.
